Dr Clare Wong

Dr Clare Wong is a patient oriented and quality focused professional with an outstanding record of success in providing high level of care. She understands the individual needs and expectations of each patient and appreciates the importance of committing sufficient time to listen to her patients concerns and provide the most up-to-date information to facilitate her patients to make informed decisions and choose the right treatment option that meets their needs.

Clare obtained her medical degree in Sun Yet-Sen University in China. She subsequently completed a Master of Medicine in Reproductive Health and Human Genetics from the University of Sydney and a Master of Surgery in Advanced Gynaecological Surgery from the University of Western Sydney. She trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney and then completed a further three year Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Gynaecological Surgery first at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and then at Sydney West Advanced Pelvic Surgery Unit (SWAPS).

 

Clare has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery in treating endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding and pelvic floor dysfunction. She currently runs a Gynaecological Clinic at Blacktown Hospital and performs significant numbers of laparoscopic, hysteroscopic and vaginal procedures for these problems. Clare’s high-risk obstetric interests include pregnancy complicated by diabetes, hypertension, previous caesarean section or other medical conditions.

Clare has a significant interest in teaching and research in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She has a number of presentations including award winning presentation in the international conferences and publication. She is currently undertaking research projects in laparoscopic hysterectomy, management of post-partum hemorrhage and laparoscopic management of adnexal masses, with the aim to improve patient care. Clare has an academic appointment as Conjoined Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the University of Western Sydney. She has an ongoing contribution to training and mentoring medical students and junior doctors.

Clare is a Staff Specialist in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Advanced Gynaecological Laparoscopic Surgery at Blacktown Hospital. She is a member of Sydney West Advanced Pelvic Surgery Unit and practices Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Waratah Private Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital and Westmead Private Hospital. Clare consults at 31 Dora Street, Hurstville, 3 Kempsey Street, Blacktown and Unit 15/247 Ryedale Road, Eastwood.

Clare can conduct her consultation in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
